I have been a therapist since 2004; I have weaved other therapies into my practice since beginning my healing journey. I have learned, studied, and taught others how to support their personal needs and trained student kinesiologists. I came to explore and navigate this work as I began my own healing journey many years ago; feeling stressed and overwhelmed with life, I knew there was another way to be, another way to live and another way to serve others.
I have spent years training in other modalities because I am passionate about learning and working with nervous system regulation and how it impacts our bodies; bringing this combination of work together creates a multi-dimensional healing palette, and as we know, what works for one may not be suitable for another.
In my spare time, I find resources in mindfulness, meditation, and creative projects, spending time with my beautiful family, friends and dog.
My mindfulness practice resembles monthly meditation in the woods with the Bristol Insight Meditation Center.
Meditation is a daily practice where I create rituals that support my work and define my life. I love yoga, and my training was renewed with great passion this year (2024) when I met the most fantastic teacher in Thailand, who incorporated everything I love about Buddhism, spiritual life and self-care into the yoga practice; I am even inspired to rain in yoga!
I am also working with the Celtic Wheel this year, It is a ritual calendar handed down to us from the indigenous Celtic and Pre-Celtic ancestors, my Irish ancestors; this yearly calendar strengthens my interest in the interconnectedness of all things. My dream will be to eventually hold and weave healing circles influenced by the Celtic wheel into the lives of others.
My approach
I want to meet you at the place where we start. There is no need to change you; I am just helping you to remember your goodness. I use my intuition and tools to feel what is required, and I can take from my diverse healing palette what you need to support YOU on your healing journey fully. I facilitate to help re-orientate you towards good health on whichever level is required for more profound results.
Some of the issues that my clients come with are varied and may look like anxiety, digestive health, and post-viral fatigue, all of which I work with using kinesiology. My clients will feel from their sessions that they can learn how to address their own health issues for lasting health. Helping clients to create honest dialogues in a safe space is how I allow them to navigate their worlds. Your health and emotional wellness will be my priorities once we begin to work together.
Continual professional development
It takes skills to navigate these precious places my clients need to go to heal. I continue to assess and be up to date with my skills to navigate your healing. With this in mind, I always seem to be on a course! I take my continual professional development for you and my work seriously. Currently, I am on a 2-year training course and looking forward to adding Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy as a treatment for you. I have a regular meditation practice and receive my nourishing treatments for self-improvement.
Navigating our self-care
Sacred needs are what was once called self-care. Our sacred needs (or seeds ) are those needs of the soul. Our self-care tends to take the back burner in our busy lives. I support my clients in coming to a place of remembrance. We can be more joyful in this place of remembering our true selves. We all need some help with remembering. I help you listen to yourself first to build a relationship with your truth. When you are reminded to look within, you navigate your way forward. By gently getting out of our way, we make space for the body’s wisdom. I hold space for you from a mindful, loving and kind presence so you can learn to do the same for yourself.
Honouring my teachers
We all begin this journey because someone has inspired us to look more deeply, taught us new skills, and called us back to ourselves so we can continue to serve others. I want to say thank you to:
