As the saying goes ‘Dive when you are falling’, I prefer to see this diving as an invitation rather than waiting to fall. Do you know the signs of drifting away? Do you recognize when you are drifting?
Here are some:
- Having made that journey across the M4 for an appointment and you can’t remember the sights, sounds or even being present in the car.
- When someone is talking to you, you can’t remember what the conversation was about.
- Being asked to do something and yu can’t remember what is was.
- Eating that delicious supper and not being present enough to taste the flavors.
- Feeling so stressed you breathe from the upper chest instead of the abdomen
- You wake up with tight shoulders, usually hunched around your ears
- Anxiety is the norm, you can feel it, but not sure where or why it is there
This is just a small example of how we drift from ourselves. This is the time to take a moment to connect mind and body. Bodywork through kinesiology is amazing for detangling the stress, Mindfulness is wonderful for continuous learning of how to manage the stress.
